Yesterday our students came back to school. This time, it was the students
from the 1st year of secondary education who enjoyed this fantastic opportunity
of using English in a fun and meaningful context: teaching English to the students in 5th year
of primary education.

The unit was about wild animals. Our students helped the kids remember the
vocabulary related to this topic: (animals and adjectives to describe them) by
means of animal riddles. The lesson also served as a refresher of comparative
structures.

Videos, songs, powerpoints, and a homemade "Dobble Kids" game were
also part of the lesson. And, of course, the children got their rewards too!

Our students showed great confidence in themselves. They did their best to provide the kids with fun and motivating activities which encouraged them to listen, speak and even play in English.

¡Ayer, nuestros estudiantes volvieron al
cole! Esta vez fueron los alumnos de 1º de ESO los que pudieron disfrutar de esta
estupenda oportunidad de hablar en inglés en un contexto significativo y
divertido a la vez: dar una clase de inglés a los alumnos de 5º de primaria.

La unidad que los pequeños estaban
estudiando trataba de los animales salvajes. Nuestros alumnos prepararon una
serie de adivinanzas en inglés sobre varios animales. Además, Natalia les ayudó
a recordar el vocabulario aprendido en clase a través de una lluvia de ideas
sobre los adjetivos que nos sirven para describir a estos animales.

Vídeos, canciones, power points, karaoke y
hasta un juego de mesa casero amenizaron la lección. Por supuesto, como en
anteriores ocasiones, los chavales consiguieron pegatinas de” caritas contentas”
y hasta bombones.

Podéis ver el power point que usamos como
apoyo visual a las adivinanzas.
Tras la actividad, la profesora felicitó a los alumnos por su trabajo. Hablar en público, y además en una lengua extranjera, no resulta nada fácil y ellos habían sido capaces de dirigir una clase de 60 minutos íntegramente en inglés.
